Claims service

Report the claim with the carrier first, then let our office help you follow it.

The carrier claim desk opens the file and assigns the adjuster. Our office helps with the process, documents, and coverage questions after the claim is moving.

Claim checklist

The first hour of a claim should be organized, not frantic.

A claim gets easier when the basic facts are captured early: what happened, when, where, who was involved, what changed, and what the carrier assigned after intake.

1

Protect people and property first

Call emergency services when safety, injury, fire, theft, water intrusion, or dangerous damage requires immediate help. Take reasonable steps to prevent more damage when it is safe.

2

Document the damage before cleanup

Take photos and video from multiple angles, save receipts, gather police or incident reports if available, and write down the date, time, location, and people involved.

3

Open the claim with your carrier

Use the carrier claim phone number or online claim site so a claim number and adjuster can be assigned. Have your policy number ready if possible.

4

Notify Greene & Associates

Send our office the claim number, carrier, loss date, and adjuster information so we can help watch the process and answer coverage questions.

Find your carrier claim desk

Use the carrier claim path for the fastest file setup. If your policy packet lists a different claim number, use the policy packet first.

After filing

Send our office the claim number.

We need the carrier, claim number, loss date, adjuster name if assigned, and a short description. That gives us enough context to help without slowing the claim setup.

Photos beat memory

Take wide shots, close-ups, serial numbers, damaged rooms, vehicles, contents, and any temporary repairs before things get moved.

Keep the claim file together

Save estimates, receipts, reports, emails, adjuster notes, claim numbers, and payment records in one folder.

Do not guess on coverage

If an adjuster, contractor, lender, or other party says something that feels off, send it to our office before assuming the answer.
